FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We try to anticipate questions you might have about our office or Chiropractic and provide the answers here. If you need additional information please do not hesitate to call us.
1.

IS A CHIROPRACTOR THE RIGHT DOCTOR FOR ME?

On your initial office visit the doctor will take a detailed health history and perform a detailed exam consisting of physical, orthopedic, and neurological tests.  Based on your history and examination the doctor will determine if you are a good candidate for chiropractic care.  If you are not a good candidate for our services we will refer you to another appropriate specialist with whom we have confidence.  If you would like to speak with one of the doctors about your condition prior to making an appointment please do not hesitate to call us.

2.

WILL I HAVE TO HAVE X-RAYS TAKEN?

Some chiropractors X-ray every new patient.  We do not. Based on your history and your exam findings the doctor will determine if X-rays are necessary.  If necessary, X-rays can be taken in our office and most of the time are read the same day.  If you have X-rays from a previous doctor you may bring them along and a determination will be made if new ones are needed.  We can also request X-rays and other images such as MRI and CT from your other doctors.

3.

WILL MY INSURANCE PAY FOR MY TREATMENT?

We accept all types of insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, Car insurance, Work Comp, and Private Insurance) and are "in network" with most private insurance companies including BCBS, United Health Care, Coventry, PCHS, and all Midland's Choice plans (Aetna, Cigna, Principal, etc).  Most private insurance plans include chiropractic coverage as part of the major medical benefits.  On your first visit to our office we will contact your insurance company and verify your benefits for you.  If you would like you may fax us a copy of your insurance card and your benefits can be verified prior to your office visit.

4.

WILL I RECEIVE A TREATMENT ON MY FIRST VISIT?

YES!  Some offices do not offer "first day treatments."  We do.  We understand you desire fast and effective relief from your pain.

5.

IF I GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR DO I HAVE TO KEEP GOING BACK FOREVER?

No.  Our goal is to design a treatment plan to help you achieve the results you desire as quickly and safely as possible.  Some patients choose to continue receiving maintenance or wellness care after the correction of their condition.  How far you take your care is always up to you.

6.

HOW MUCH WILL MY TREATMENT COST?

The cost of your treatment is dependent on two main factors: 1.  The severity of your condition,  2.  Your insurance.  If you have private health insurance the cost will be based on the contracted rate we have with your insurance company.  This contracted rate is the same for all chiropractors regardless of credentials or specialty.  However, each insurance company's contracted rates are different, and there are a variety of insurance plan designs such as co-pay or deductible/coninsurance plans which influence how much you pay.  If you bring your insurance card to your appointment we will contact your insurance company, verify your benefits, and give you an estimate of the cost.

If your injury is the result of a car accident your automobile insurance will pay for 100% of your treatment under your Medical Payments Coverage or "Med-Pay" up to your coverage limits.

If your injury is the result of a work injury, your employer's workers compensation or "work comp" will pay for 100% of your treatment.

If you do not have insurance we have a variety of affordable payment options.  We will discuss these options with you and help you decide which is the best option for you.

7.

WAHT IS CHIROPRACTIC PHYSIOTHERAPY?

Not to be confused with "Physical Therapy" (a profession) physiotherapy is a group of treatment procedures such as rehab, exercsie, massage, traction, muscle stimulation, ultrasound, laser, and other "non-manipulative" techniques.  These techniques are shared by many other professions such as physical therapists and athletic trainers.  Chiropractic physiotherapy simply means these procedures can be done by a doctor of chiropractic.
